Step 2. Create Google Account
Registering Google Voice Number
Fill in the required information and click on “I agree…” at the bottom. Make sure your email address is entered in correctly because Google will send you a verification email. It always takes me a few tries with the word verification. If you type the word incorrectly, you are presented with a different word and it is not very legible. This is to prevent automated software from registering.

How do I do the inmate calling ? He calls that number but it says there’s no money on the account ? Please help

  • WattaBinG

you have to put the money on the google voice number not the cell phone…. this works…. just make sure you do a reverse search of the google vice number and find the city and state of number so when he adds it to his inmate approved numbers he has the right town/state associated with said number…. literally go to google and put in the phone number and hit enter for example (732) 723-8255 and then the town listed is spotswood NJ… so when they add the number they put the phone number and the town/state of listed google voice and just find any street in that town and add that as well if need be, but i just did the city and state and they approved it, i didnt put an exact address…. just city and state associated with google voice nuber…. worked for me, i was an inmate…. let me know if any problems…

I have a Google voice line through an Obihai device. Apparently the number I chose belonged to another person at some time. His name appears on the caller ID of the people I call. How do I change the name to my own?

    • techbytes

Most likely that number is still linked to his google account. You need to log on at and link your number (cell or home) to that Google Voice number.
